Ana Heitor: Speaker at Slag&Ashtrade 2020
GMI Global proudly announces the participation of Mrs. Ana Heitor at Slag & Ashtrade 2020.
Before joining the University of Leeds (UK), Dr Heitor worked as a Senior Lecturer in the University of Wollongong (Australia), and previously in industry for a brief time in infrastructure construction.
Her research focus on the study of the behaviour of compacted materials in the context of transport infrastructure applications (e.g. roads, rail, ports and airports). In particular, she has been an investigator in several research projects where the use of granular waste materials such as steel slag, coalwash, rubber, fly ash have been explored as alternative synthetic fill materials. Her research achievements have been recognized by several awards, including the Australian Geomechanics NSW Research Award and more recently University of Wollongong Women of Impact, IACMAG John Carter Award for young professionals and Churchill Fellowship.
