Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF): An Alternative Pathway to develop Co processing TSR at Cement Industry and to leverage Non-Hazardous Waste Valorization in Brazil
Mr. Alaim de Paula, Managing Director at Kappa Gears Consulting, will be presenting “Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF): An Alternative Pathway to develop Co processing TSR at Cement Industry and to leverage Non-Hazardous Waste Valorization in Brazil”, at the Cement Business & Industry Brazil & LatAm 2019 Conference and exhibition to be held on April 11-12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Sheraton WTC Hotel.
Despite of necessary reduction of CO2 emissions and the growth of competition on cement business in Brazil, the advance made by the Brazilian cement industry in terms of reducing the use of fossil fuels through co-processing has shown an under expectations progress if we consider (1) the existing potential and (2) the fact that most of all wastes in Brazil are currently sent to landfills.
On this context, what would be the potential role for SRF (CDR) in the upcoming years for Sustainability and Competitiveness of the cement industry and what could be the alternative to leverage co processing TSR with different approaches, avoiding mistakes from the past and opening a new alternative pathway to Non-Hazardous Waste Valorization in Brazil?
In the past 15 years Mr. de Paula acted as an Executive and Consultant on Business Management and Sustainability areas: Implementation of business units targeting sustainable alternatives to the use of natural resources developing added value operations to waste resources. He acted in various industrial and multicultural environments, with emphasis on his international experience in Europe, including commercial, industrial, administrative, controlling, legal and financial areas.
