What do the core of açaí generated in Pará and the municipal solid waste from São Paulo have in common? Besides representing a challenge to find a correct destination, both of them have become alternative fuels in Votorantim kilns.

The company has been working on new initiatives to go further than only improving its thermal consumption rate. This presentation will present some examples of the efforts Votorantim is doing in order to participate in the solution to some of the problems of our country and to reduce the greenhouse gases emissions.

Eduardo Porciuncula has 20 years of experience on building materials market. At Votorantim he occupied positions in commercial area, mortar business, R&D, marketing and innovation. Since 2018 he holds the position of Head of Coprocessing, being responsible for improving thermal substitution rates and setting the alternative fuels long-term plan towards a more sustainable operation.
